Understanding PLOAD1

I am trying to understand PLOAD1.  It has been described quite vaguely!  For instance, nowhere could I find what the 'break angle' refers to.

In any case, I am trying to figure out how to apply a linearly varying distributed load on a beam (say one end being at 10 kN to the other end, being at 4 kN), applied at a partial length on a beam element length.

Your input is much appreciate in advance!

    Hi,

    There is usage of break angle in help document:

    Capture.PNG.a299aff3b2ef57617496a25379e98430.PNG

    and to apply Pload1, select your beam, and input magnitude = 10KN/mm => click create/edit

    set distance X1, X2, and P2 as:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>593a0a132f281_Capture(2).thumb.PNG.44184b816f70a336ebe6e432dc436422.PNG

    In optistruct reference guide. 0.25 is P1 distance per beam length, and 0.75 is P2 distance per beam length (from node A)

    pay attention that P1, P2 is force per unit length (KN/mm ?)

    Dear Tinh:

    I sincerely appreciate your help in explaining the PLOAD1.

    I can now put the PLOAD1; when I check the solver deck, I can see all the parameters I input.  However, is there any way to see the applied uniform load on the model in Hypermesh?  Right now, it just shows 'PLOAD1 = 33' on the element it has been applied to.

    AGAIN, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

    Hi,

    I am not sure it can display distributed loads or not. Effort to do it may lead to slow down graphic performance
