Simplify mechanical shovel

Hi! It is requested to simplify the mechanical shovel by highlightting mass and moment of inertia. I don't understand what it means. Could you help me out? Thank you

    This could mean replacing certain bulky components with mass elements,

     

    In certain cases, when it is not necessary to see deformation of certain components, but necessary to account for their mass, we replace such components with mass elements connected by rigid elements.
