I am doing nonlinear analysis, so I need an information regarding material definations.

Do I need to define ture stress-strain values or engineering stress-strain values are enough?

will Hypermesh convert engineering data to true values?

Please hlep me on this.

Thanks

The data entered should be in true stress/true strain

    Hi,

There are some material law in which you have to provide nominal stress strain.Refer Radioss solver documentation for material law.

No we dont have any option which converts engineering stress strain to true stress strain in Hypermesh.

    Hi Arjun,

Does your analysis has large displacements or small displacements?

If there are large displacements involved, which means there is a change in the geometry as the load application increases. In this case you need TRUE-stress Vs Strain curve.
