Some insight on Edge Port issue with dielectric medium

So I'm getting an error that says that I am not allowed to create an edge port on a dielectric medium, but it is clearly on a PEC.

Does anyone have an idea on what I am missing?

Also if this is the wrong place to ask this sort of thing feel free to delete it.

TIA.

    Hi @Zain

Sorry, the error message is not clearly stating what the problem is:

MoM/MLFMM does not support port definitions that defined on PEC/metal strips that lie on a dielectric SEP region.

You have a couple of choices:

    • set the solution for the dielectric region to VEP
    • remove a small section of dielectric in the vicinity of the ports
    • define the ports such that they are embedded inside the dielectric - you can imprint a new edge on the metal rods and define the edge port at that location
    • use FDTD as the solver

Thanks JIF, the post you suggested helped.
