Extracting Design Forces using Wall and Strip Integration Lines in S-FRAME

Wall Integration Lines, Strip Integration Lines, and Constraint Lines: what are the benefits and how are they used?

Integration and Constraint lines are efficient tools when analyzing and designing walls and slabs. This two-part webinar series explains when and how you should use them.

Part 1 of Wall Integration Lines, Strip Integration Lines, and Constraint Lines demonstrates the benefits of using integration lines to derive the resultant shear, axial, or moment forces at areas of interest in your structural model. Unlike adding additional nodes or structural members, integration lines do not change your structural model's stiffness or mass. Add them during the modeling process or on the fly after running an analysis.

Topics covered during this webinar include:

  1. Strip Integration Lines - assists with slab design by providing design results in a consistent coordinate system.

  2. Wall Integration Lines - assists with wall design by providing wall reactions at each wall panel (T-shaped, C-shaped, L-shaped, I-shaped) at each level.

  3. Assembled Wall Lines (Piers) - assists with wall design by providing center-of-gravity reactions for each wall at each level.
