Network license is not working
I was using a student version of Altair.
I have received a network license from university.
I have uninstalled the student version and installed latest version of Altair HW.
I have set environment variables(ALTAIR_LICENSE_PATH) to university server and as well as university VPN is also activated.
I am receiving following error message.
My colleagues are still able to work with same license server without an lic.dat file. but I am not able to
Could anyone provide a solution to this issue

Can you do 'ping kl1-b03-zls.ds.fh-kl.de' from command window?

Hi,
The software requires a license file to function, You should find the license file attached to the email with the software download links,
After downloading the license file, rename it to altair_lic.dat and place the same in the <installation directory>/security folder
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
If you have already done the above and still face the error, Use windows folder options / view > display file name extensions, to make sure the file is named altair_lic.dat and not altair_lic.dat.dat,You need to confirm if the Ethernet address in the license file is the correct one and matches the one in your machine.
When you open the license file in a text editor you will see an Ethernet address there in a line that says 'ETHERNET =
The Ethernet ID is the ID of your machine which is exactly 12 hexadecimal numbers. For example D4WRF478F398
Run ipconfig/all in command window and check for physical address under Ethernet adapter local area connection:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
The listed physical address under Ethernet adapter local area connection should be used to generate the license file, if there is no listing of Ethernet adapter local area connection, the address under Wireless Adapter LAN Wifi must be used.
That means if the address provided as above does not match the one in the license file, please request for the license file again with the correct Ethernet ID here https://studentedition.altair.com/

I have set environment variable to 6200@license host.

Hi Midhun,
It looks like you are using a 32 Bit machine.
We are sorry to say that we do not provide a 32 bit version of our HWs software, these have been discontinued.
We strongly recommend switching to 64 bit machines, we can provide a new license when you switch to a 64 bit machine.

Ping is OK. Network is OK.
If you can not request license from this server, check if Altair License server is running ok?

Can you rename altair_lic.dat;6200@kl1-b03-zls.ds.fh-kl.de to just altair_lic.dat and try?
(Use windows folder options / view > display file name extensions, to make sure the file is named altair_lic.dat and not altair_lic.dat.dat)

Hi, There is no license file in the security folder(refer to screenshot).
I have checked with my University colleagues, they also don't have a license file in this folder.
But for them after setting up ALTAIR_LICENSE_PATH to 6200@kl1-b03-zls.ds.fh-kl.de. software is working but for me not.
System is able to fetch license from the server(refer to License utility)
I don't know why its not working for me
Is there any issue with time zones or something?
My online classes are going with peace, I am unable to practice , please help

As your screenshot, you NOT need altair_lic.dat because you use Altair License server.
When you see the licenses within 'almutil' Hypermesh should work ok.
Your server has 1250000 HWU, so there're about maximum 59 Hypermesh/Hyperview sessions in parallel. Each session Hypermesh/Hyperview needs 21000 HWU.
