Good morning,

I'm trying to model a contact between the head of a screw and the supporting plate on which the bolt will lie. Of course, just one quarted of the model it's used to represent the situation.

As user profile,  I select Optistruct. Since the model is axisymmetric, I want to know first of all if ithere are some specific 2D elements to take into account this aspect or if it enough to put a contraint along the axis.

Moreover, since the model is completly flat, I want to understand which is the best way to represent the contact.

King Regards,

You could try this axisymmetric analysis with OptiStruct latest version 2019.1.Please refer below tip and trick & for more information refer OptiStruct user guide.

First of all, thanks for your reply. I'm using the 2017.r2 version of hypermesh (and so optistruct). Sorry but I didn't specify it in the previous mail! There's something similar also for this version?

As mentioned in the above shared tip and trick, with older version you can do only linear analysis.Switching to latest version would help you to explore many new features of OptiStruct.
