Altair One Managed Licenses Guide – For Users to Activate and Use the Software
Users need to connect to the Internet and enable the Altair software in the machine to connect to the Altair one managed licensing system to authenticate the license and start.
Option 1: Authorize using an App
Open the app you are looking to license
- Go to File à Licensing
- Enter the Username and Password to your Altair One account
- Activate your account.
Once activated you should be able to use the app.
Option 2: Authorize using the ALM Utility
- Go to the User Profile tab
- Go to the Authorize machines tab
- Generate Authorization Code
- Copy the Authorization code
- Paste the authorization code in ALMUtil (Managed Licensing Tab)
- Authorize the machine
Once activated you should be able to use the Altair apps.

Advanced - Exceptions for Proxy issues
In case of Authorization error set up the below environment variables.
(Windows) ALM_HHWU_USE_WININET = 1
(Windows and Linux) ALM_HHWU_TIMEOUT = 20
Check if proxy is required to access any of the below sites.
If so, open the proxy for the port 443/ TCP and create an exception for proxy in all the browsers being used for the traffic going to our servers (the above mentioned urls) .
