A quick tutorial about modeling a truss structure in S-TIMBER

S-FRAME suite has a wide range of solutions for different cases that structural engineers might encounter. S-FRAME, the most versatile in the suite, has a useful feature that allows users to use a wizard to create structures with various geometric shapes.

S-TIMBER, however, doesn't count with these wizards but that doesn't mean that diverse shapes can't be modeled using it. The featured video in this article shows the general workflow to generate a timber truss structure on S-TIMBER, covering grids, member modeling, loads assignment and analysis, even with a run on the code check. It even also includes another definition alternative using S-FRAME.

The shown workflow can be adapted to different scenarios, where the engineer may need to work with more complex shapes and configurations, always considering the basics explained in the video.
