Coil inductor value goal in OPTFEKO

Hello,

I need to designed a coil at a specific inductor value (2.5 uH) over a certain frequency range (between 60 MHz and 100 MHz). Since the SRF of a planar coil is the main source of problem, I would like to use OPTFEKO to get the best coil with my fabrication process constraints (especially traces spacing).

In POSTFEKO, I see in the .out file that the inductor is shown. Maybe we can use this information to set a goal for OPTFEKO ? Or goal can only use imaginary part of the impedance to search the best parameters.

To summarize : I need to create a planar circular coil with a specific inductor value over a known frequency range, and I would like to use OPTFEKO for that, but I don't understand how to achieve that with masks, goals and everything ? (the coil's simulation is in the air, so it's an ideal case)

Can you help me ?

Best regards

You want the inductance to be 2.5E-6 H, so you want the imaginary value of the input impedance to be 2pi*frequency*2.5E-6 Ohm.

Create a mask with the following points:
    (6E7, 6.28*6E7*2.5E-6) and (1E8, 6.28*1E8*2.5E-6).

Perform the discrete frequency sweep from 6E7 to 1E8 Hz (same as the corners of the mask).

For the optimization goal, specify that the imaginary value of the input impedance be equal to the mask.

The attached model (Feko version 2025) can serve as an example.
