System copy from model to model

Hi all,

I want to copy a system (front shock absorber system) from the generic full vehicle driver with model to my personal model. Unfortunately, doing my model, I have forgotten to select front shock absorber from the menu (I started from full vehicle driver with model, but I forgot to put the front shock absorber model). How can I copy it from the generic model to my model? Or, in general, how can I insert the front shock absorber system (the standard one) to my model?

Thanks

Hello Federico - The best way to add systems to the library is to rebuild the model.

Following procedure should help you add the system and also bring the model to the configuration to what you might have changed to.

    1. From the existing model, export Data of the model to an mdl file, so that it can be imported after rebuilding the model. This can be done through File > Export > Model > Export data/wizard selections.
    2. Build a new model, this time, ensure you select all the necessary systems.
    3. Import the exported data from File > Import > Model . Select data only choice.

In addition to Praful's method, if all you're looking to do is add shocks to your model, then use the following process: build the default generic model, select the shock system, export a system definition (also in .mdl format), then re-import it back into the suspension system . After that, you will need to resolve any attachments to make sure the shock model is attached properly to the rest of the suspension.
