Defining specific elements for measuring accelaration etc.

Hello,

I need to define elements at specific locations in my model to represent force sensors and accelaration sensors. I know that Animator 4 (we are using this postprocessor) is able to plot curves for each defined part. My question: Is it possible to pick a few elements of the already meshed parts and define them as a new part?. I also know that I can create different kind of sensors in the solver browser for LsDyna (we are using this solver) but I don't know exactly how it works. I would be very thankful for any hint or advice.

    olegzeiler,

If I understand you correctly your first question is about how to create a part (*part card) and place a few elements into it for LS Dyna so that it can be easily selected while postprocessing.

Go to collectors > create > component > give it a name
select card image to be part
Go to mesh > organize > elements > to component
Select the elements from the screen
Set dest component = to the component, Select the components created in the first step
Click move to move the elements in the selected components to the component,
Click return to exit the panel.

your second question is about creating the *sensor card, you can do this from analysis > safety > sensors panel.

Or as you say you can go to View > solver browser and in this browser area right click > create > sensor > and select the required sensor card.

You can also do this from tools > create cards > sensor
