i have imported a geometer which is in millimeters, after meshing i gave steel material properties as E=2.1e5, N=0.3, density= 7.9e-9

and the total mass shown was 2.307e-2...

my question is, in what units is the mass obtained ??

i'm little bit confused every time doing this unit conversions

thank you..

    Hi kanney,

    Mass= Volume*Density

    Here the volume will be in mm3 & density you have given is in Tonne/mm3

    So the mass will be in Tonnes (=mm3*tonne/mm3)

    Density is mass over volume, the material you are showing seems to be steel. The steel density is 7.9e-9 metric tons per mm3. Then, the total mass shown is in metric tons.
