Hey George

I want to create a corase mesh now with a second order. I managed to create it. But there are some trias element in my model. I think that is why the error is being shown

'Errors with missing, incorrect or duplicate IDs found 1367 times.'

Could you please tell me how can I make a nicer mesh here with coarse element?

i have attached the model

    Hi,

There were shell elements in the model and the same was deleted. Now the model runs fine.

    The current mesh looks good.

Thanks for the reply. But the model which you sent me has very fine mesh. I would like to coarse element in my model with 2nd order analysis. Could you tell me how to do that.

    Thanks

But the model has very fine elements with first order mesh. I want to have second order mesh with coarse element. How do I get that?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

For a coarser type, mesh the component with a bigger element size and finally go to 3D page>>order change and select the elements and change to 2nd for second order elements.

When I try to mesh with bigger element size, some elements are become trias and hence the error is shown saying:

'Errors with missing, incorrect or duplicate IDs found 1367 times.'

you could see in the above model attached '

    Hi,

From the model delete the fine mesh and keep only the coarser mesh. Update the loads and boundary conditions in the coarser mesh and try running.

I have tried making a mesh coarser in the middle region. But it still shows some error. It says missing property definition, even though I didn define properties.

Also, could you please explain the steps so I don't have to disturb you again

    I have attached the file

    Thanks once again

    Hi,

Still in the model you have both shell and solid mesh, ie 2D and 3D elements in the same component collector.

From the mask browser you can hide 2D elements and view the 3D elements only. Hide the 2D and delete the 3D mesh (fine mesh elements) and display the 2D elements and create the hexa mesh from them and run the analysis.

Masking the 3D /2D elements from the mask browser is shown in the video below. Please follow the steps shown.

PS: You can always ask queries, even if they are simple. We are always happy to help you.

    Hi,

With screen capture the above video was captured and the .swf can be opened in GOM player.

Please remesh the model you have shared. You can extract the faces (Tools>>Faces) of the model so that 2D mesh will be created. Now from mask browser isolate the 3D elements and delete the same. Unmask and remesh the existing 2D mesh to the required element size and using line drag option you can create the hexa mesh of the remeshed elements.

    Hi,

Once the 3D elements are isolated from the mask browser go to delete panel and select elements>>displayed  option so that they will be deleted.

The above .swf fie has been converted to .mp4 and attached along for your reference.

Thanks a lot Mr. Pagadala. I really appreciate it

Could you please tell me what exactly you changed and how did you change it? I am completely new to this, so would be nice if you could give me slightly detailed explanation

    Hi @Novak

No property or material is assigned to property and also solver is checking quality of elements. I turned off the element quality using PARM>> CHECKEL>>NO

    Hi Prakash

Thanks once again for the reply. In the above model, the mesh in the middle looked good (i think!). Do you know how can I improve the mesh in the other regions?

    @Novak

    Maybe remesh??

Split the model into small sections and remesh....

But too fine mesh take more time during analysis.

    Hey Prakash

Thanks. In this model, I have 2D and 3D elements. But it shows similar error as before. I want to have 3D model now, with this mesh. From what I understood, I need to delete the 2D elements. But, if I do that, the mesh changes. How do I get 3D model with 2D mesh?

    I have attached the model

it still shows the same error though. I still see 2D elements in it. I would like to get rid of it and create a very fine mesh in the middle

Never mind: I did figure it out.

The model attached works completely fine except when I open hyperview it doesn't show anything. Could you please have a look?

    Hi @Novak

Are you trying to open result file in HyperView (.H3d file)?

If yes, can load the file in HyperView and press F to fit the model in screen and check if this helps?
