Changing default tolerances in Hypermesh
Answers

IIRC, Hypermesh computes default tolerance (geometry, mesh) basing on part dimension.
I'm not sure. Please check & confirm.

When you open a new session in a new folder with no hmmenu.set file -- the default cleanup tolerance is 0.01 and default node tolerance is 0.1.
The majority of our work needs to be specified within microns. So we always have to change cleanup to 0.0001 and node tolerance to 0.001. When we create submodels - they need to be even finer tolerance.
If someone forgets to change this, there is lost time due to rework of the FE model / re-running analyses.
Thank you for your ideas / suggestions.

Perhaps this can help you:
1) delete hmmenu.set, hmsettings.tcl in .\documents
2) open hypermesh
3) set optional tolerances 0.0001 and 0.001
4) exit hypermesh
5) copy the hmmenu.set in .\documents to .\hm\bin\win64
it will be default file for hypermesh next time /emoticons/default_cool.png' alt='B)'>
