Organize each solid into a separate component

Hi all,

I am facing a problem in importing geometry to HyperMesh.

While I import the stp file into HyperMesh, the whole assembly is imported as one single component.

What I need is, each solid to be in a separate component.

The split component by part / body is greyed out.

Although it does recognize each solid to be separate.

Is there any option to be changed before importing to prevent this from occurring or move each solid into a separate component after importing?

Thanks in advance.

Converting to Parasolid file (*.x_t) solved the problem.

Maybe your STEP is not assembly?

I do a test with Catia. Within Catia, I have a CATProduct (assembly). The STEP was exported from this CATProduct.

When I imported my STEP, I got also the same assembly structure as Catia.

    HTH,
