Problem with exporting to ANSYS

Hi,

I used to export mesh to abaqus and everything was fine. The is first time that I want to export to ANSYS, and it tells me '## number of elements not defined in the template'. When I try to check the element type that Hypermesh has generated, the card shows '0' for every element property (ESYS, TYPE, MAT, etc).  I tried to assign a property to the component yet the element type remained zero! I also load the ANSYS template at the beginning. I'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks.

AFB

I found that for ANSYS one has to create a collector with element property before meshing.

    Hello

the message 'number of elements not defined in template' is due to element type not yet updated

go to panel 'elem type' and update all elements

Thank you tinh. I found out the I can create a property collector and assign it to the part before meshing. But what you're suggesting might be easier, where is that panel exactly? I'm sure I've accessed couple of element type panels to do exactly that, but not helpful so far.

    Hello

I've just found that I cannot use 'elem type' or 'config change' panel to update element types in ansys  image/emoticons/default_wacko.png' alt=''>

So i have used menu 'tools>convert>from radioss bulk to ansys' so everything is fine
