Problem with creating splits
Altair EmployeeHi, i am a student participating in Formula SAE. I am trying to make a 2D mesh of our spaceframe in Hyperworks, I have encountered a problem.
I want to create a split at the intersection of these two surfaces
I have tried to split them using trim with surfaces.
However the surfaces won't split.
I have tried many things to overcome this, but I end up stuck with this problem. I would be grateful if anyone could help me with this issue.

If you have some problem with 'trim with surfs', maybe try 'trim with lines' ?

Thank you for for your reply. I tried doing that but I was unable to get the line to split the surface along the contour along which the two pipes intersect. I can't figure out what I have done wrong.

The same problem is reoccurring elsewhere in the model. Could you please explain how you did it ?

When you can't split surface by another surface, try split them by line. Where're the lines ? Just create them by 'intersection' between surfaces.
After that, you need also merge edges.
