Apply additional loads after prestressing bolts!

Hello everyone,

if you want to know how the bolt stresses are influenced by an additional load you can follow these steps:

1. Create your analysis and pre-stress the bolts with either Forces or Moments and run the simulation. (No external load, only the bolts!)
2. In the results you can get the number of turns every bolt need to get achieve the pretension.
3. Copy the simulation and type in the number of turns for every bolt. Add new external loads and run the simulation.

Now you can review the results and compare the stress changes of the bolt with and without external forces!

It’s not perfect but it’s the best way I know right now.
