Extraction Path

Does motionsolve or another altair product have the ability to calculate an "extraction path"? That is, moving an object to another location without intersecting any other objects. Similar to this feature in NX:

Thanks.

    Hello,

Inspire Motion allows you to create a "Trace" of any location (surface point, vertex, midpoint, etc.) on a part, creating a swept 3d path of that particular point.  You may have as many Traces as you'd like for a part. Each one is a single 3d curve object.  Inspire Motion does not currently create an entire swept volume of a part, as you pointed to in the video, but using the Geometry tools inside Inspire, you can manipulate the curve and create 3D solid geometry from it.

    Hope this helps.

    Scott,

Thank you for your answer. The iterative calculation of the proper path of the 3D object is my goal, which certainly takes into account the sweep/trace, but it is more complicated than just that. If there is a feature request list somewhere, I think this would be a valuable addition to the Altair suite.

    Thanks,

    Jacob
