DOE study
Hello,
Im trying to do Hyper-study exercise HS-1590: DOE Study Using Madymo tutorial.
Im in step 6 to define response i.e 4. In the Expression Builder, click the ASCII Extracts tab. 5. To add an extract source, click Add Extract Source
but im unable to extract ASCII tab to input values.

hi @orahman21
can you please specify with more details or maybe images what are you trying in the ASCII extracts that is not working?
For non-usual ASCII files, that cannot be read directly by HSt readers, you can use this option.
Once you add a source file, it should launch a windows similar to a text editor, and this window has a 'search' for a keyword. You will type a keyword and HSt will look for it and then you can adjust how many characters and offset from the keyword.
Is that what you are doing?

Thanks !! for your information. with new version its different.
Lastly, i have issue while running the model, the solver keeps sending back error file not found.
**attached is the file.

how did you configure the solver batch executable and the arguments for it?
the file name is correctly generated in each model folder? run_XXXX>>m_1

I have configured as per the tutorial for this study,
folder is created but no results file.

but what about the input data? is it created in this folder?
If you copy and launch manually the .bat file from your run directory, does it work?

just fyi, when you launch HSt it starts writting your files and then, submitting the model runs sequentially.
A quick test for checking if your script is working properly is to open your run folder (m_1, for example), and assuming that the input file is written there, launch your .bat from this location.
The easiest way to check is copying it to your run folder and try to execute it.
The more detailed test, would be to open a 'cmd', change ('cd') to your run folder, then, launch the .bat from this location (including possible arguments).
A silly question:
Have you tried running the tutorial itself? Does it work in your machine?

yes it works if we do it manually, i found one more solution i.e you need to keep the files in m1 folder along with original directory.
BUT running DOE it does not read the results file from m1 folder.
somehow, yes i have completed this solution.

i didn't understand..sorry..did you manage to solve your problem?
did you find out what was wrong? If yes, post it here, as some others might have the same. /emoticons/default_smile.png' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' title=':)' width='20' />

To run the files you need to keep the files .xml files in the m1 folder along with parent directory in order to execute the operations.
Lastly the results doesn't change i.e the response values are same after running DOE also. so we need to have different values for each run in order to do post-processing.
Maybe some moderator can help in this thread
Thanks

I assume that you have created a .tpl template file, with a few design variables, which in the end will turn into your modified model into the run directory. Correct?
When you go to DOE and submit only 'Write' option, does it write your .xml files correclty? I mean, are the resultant .xml files written in each folder, with different values, according to the .tpl file and DOE values?
If you need to copy a file or even folder from the base directory to each run you could use the operator feature, that is meant for this kind of copy and paste for files from one directory to the model run directory.
in the old versions you had to list the filenames under the 'solver arguments', but this is not needed anymore, as you have the operator for that.
During the execution, using operator, HSt should write your .xml file and copy your relevant folders to the m_1 foler, under the 'run_XXXX' folder.
Please provide more detailed information so that people can help, maybe a few pictures of your setup, .tpl. and a picture of the files needed for madymo to run. A picture of the files generated from the nominla run is also helpful.
