Modelling the forming of a solid part

Hi,

I want to model the forming procedure for a part similar to what is shown in the picture below. It is not a flat plate element but more like a square rod which is bent in a Z shape. As I understand it, the best way to do this will be with solid elements but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this other than with a pipe forming simulation. Can anyone advise me on similar tutorials? It is important I model the stresses due to forming very accurately.

Thanks

hi, you should build the model with HyperMesh and Radioss directly.

With HyperForm, you can define the blank type as 'solid'. But i am not so sure about the performance of this feature.

Normally, the blank will be 'shell'.
You can try and give a feedback if possible.
