Overview Video: Variable Transformations

This week we're going to have a look at the Variable Transformations node. Many of our customers weren't aware the the capabilities existed within the tool and others hadn't explored too deeply.

The VT node gives users the ability to quickly make adjustments to the data without having to export it back to a different system for correction/further manipulation. This could be modelling specific changes such as standardization, log transforms, imputation, or changing special characters for NULL.

You can also export and reuse any calculations you've made!

Note that any data changes that you make to training data prior to running the model are stored as SQL in the model node, so there's no need to apply the same changes to the test data set when running scoring or validation (caveat - this continuity is broken by partitions or aggregations)!
