Importing Floor plan(in pdf or pptx format)
I am currently working on importing a floor plan which is in .pptx format. On the Altair webpage it says that the import and export filters are not available for student license. How can I then import the floorplan? If I cant, how do I the same floorplan on wallman and then import it to proman? Looking for solutions. Please help.

I suppose you want to create (draw) a geometry in WallMan with an image of the floorplan in the background to help in the drawing process. WallMan can import image formats like .bmp, .png, .gif, .jpg, .tif. So if you produce first an image (screen shot) of the floorplan with Microsoft Paint or the Microsoft snipping tool and save it in one of those image formats, then you should be able to use that in WallMan.
For completeness, let me mention the steps:
1. Start WallMan
2. File / New DataBase
3. Choose 'Indoor' and choose 'Draw with bitmap in background'.
Soon after this, WallMan will ask you for the image.

Thank you for your reply @mvogel. I tried following your steps but I don't really know how to proceed further. Is there perhaps any material I could look up to successfully create this floorplan on WallMan? Could you please guide me on how I can actually create the floorplan of the following attached file on WallMan? I have attached the floorplan with this message. I would also like to bring to your notice that I am using a students license and I read on the Altair website that students license doesn't support geometry import and export filters.
Also, Proman gives the following error attached as shown. How can I resolve this?

I'm attaching a guided exercise (the .pdf file) with a couple of files that belong to this exercise.
At the end of the drawing process in WallMan, you save the geometry to a file with extension .idb. That file can be used in ProMan. When you start a new project in ProMan, you specify that you want to simulate an indoor scenario, and ProMan will ask you for the .idb file. It's a native WinProp format, so it will work with a student license.

@mvogel. How exactly does the mcb file works? Does winprop only support the listed material and thickness that u have provided on the mcb file?

In addition to the materials and thicknesses in the .mcb file, the user can create any material and thickness he wants. That is done under Edit / Materials in WallMan.
For your convenience, I'm attaching a few guided exercises in WinProp_intro.zip.

Hello @mvogel. Thank you for the file. I have managed to create the floorplan and have attached the same for your reference below. However the length and width of the walls and such are all and approximation. Is there any better way to get the accurate measurement for them? In general is there any more i can do to make the floorplan better?

Before you draw anything in WallMan, use the menu Settings / Local Settings to define a grid. In your case, a grid size of 0.2 m or slightly larger will probably be a convenient choice. If you don't see the grid right away, zoom in until you see it. Then start drawing. The wall corners will snap exactly to the grid. If walls are correctly aligned with the grid, it will also be easier to create doors and windows.
