Exporting an entity set to a solver deck can lead to a very long id list.

For that reason, some users prefer to define a set of nodes or a set of elements through a combination of formulaic expressions.

 

This can be done in HyperMesh as explained below.

 

1. From the Model Ribbon select Sets

 

2. From Set Type select formula
3. Right-Click on Number of Clauses and select Edit

 

 

4. Click on Insert to Setup a New Clause
5. Choose a Clause Type
6. Enter the required values and click OK to create the Set

 

The element set, defined in this example, creates the following lines in the OptiStruct solver deck:

SET     1       ELEM    LIST
