Re: What causes OptiStruct Error #1031 and how to fix it ?
Hello Fabian,
This error means that in the .fem file, on line 1316697, there is a continuation line (an extra line on the deck) probably blank or with a "+". This information is not defined according to MAT1 rules, hence the error.
Can you please double-check the deck? If you can share it, I can review it for you too.
Thanks,
Vinicius Gomes
Re: EDEM Particle Size Distribution
Hi Ibrahim
Is there a reason why you would want to use the lognormal distribution and not the normal distribution? With the given d10, d50 and d90 values, you could calculate the mean and standard deviation of the distribution, and then use those values for your normal distribution. You would only require one material and one particle, and specify the distribution for that particle, instead of having three separate materials and particles.
Thanks,

Re: User defined Output request causing error in "Static Ride Analysis event"
Hi Sudip,
If you are having trouble with the USER subroutine, you could always just measure the caster, camber, and tire steered angles through Expressions. Simply place a Marker attached to the knuckle which is located at the tire center and aligned with the Global Frame Marker. Measure the rotational displacement (AZ) of the new Marker with respect to the Global Frame Marker for steer angle. Measure AX for the camber angle. Lastly, align the Z axis of a second marker along the shock / AutoDamper entity and measure AY with respect to the Global Frame Marker as well to calculate the caster angle.
Hope this helps!

Re: How does Altair units lisence work
Great, thanks for answering!
Assuming I wanna test out the Altair Activate and Twin Activate, does it draw two seperate amount of AUs or is does same lisence work for both versions?
Activate and Twin Activate are the same, as far as I know.
Same amount of AUs.
GUI products, in general, level their usage for 1 user, meaning you could launch as many as your machine supports, and the consumption would be given by the highest draw.
Re: How does Altair units lisence work
apparently your company has 2 valid licenses, of with 84 Altair Units and another with 300 AUs.
Someone is definetely using it, in your company.
To activate your access, you need to input your username and password (Managed AltairOne) from the AltairOne portal into the software.
Assuming that you have rights to access one of the licenses shown up there, you would be able to use the software.
Each product uses a certain number of units, as you can check the link below.
Re: How to correctly parameterize input dimensions for your FluxMotor-Hyperstudy optimization
Hello Hannes,
Thanks for writing in the forum.
What you describe is related to the definition of relevant constraints to get feasible designs.
I think the blogs below can help you to understand better the FluxMotor-HyperStudy connection and use. Please try the suggestions in point 2 and 3 of the Top 5 guide (2nd blog below). Normally it will help to get more successful evaluations.

Do you want to learn more about MotionSolve for Vehicle Modeling? There is dedicated eLearning on learn.altair.com!
The eLearning course, MotionSolve v2023 for Vehicle Modeling, is now available on learn.altair.com!
MotionSolve is used as part of the chassis development process by a long list of automotive, powersports, and commercial heavy vehicle OEMs. This class introduces the application of MotionSolve for vehicle modeling applications and focuses on building basic but high-quality rigid body models, whose fidelity can be extended at a later stage for more detailed analysis.

Pre-Requisite
Should have the latest version of HyperWorks HW2022.2
Usage/Installation Instructions
Unzip the attached files to use for exercise as described in the videos on the Altair How to Channel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAlbncJYheA&list=PLGNemB0NFb0DYHM6UytxyTnLFdR_tNbZG&pp=iAQB
Create a Component (and Property) for each surface in your model
Overview
This script will allow you to select surfaces, and each surface will be placed into a newly created component. Assuming this is a midsurfaced model, a blank PSHELL property will also be created and assigned to the component, allowing for easy Gauge optimization setup.
Usage/Installation Instructions
Load Script
Select Surfaces
Give it a few seconds (Its not the fastest, but I'm not a professional coder

Re: How can I retain my Assemblies from HyperMesh to HyperView?
Thanks Adriano,
When I do that I see Materials and Properties come in, but still no Assemblies.
I should also add- when I open the results file in either the Advanced or Standard Math Template the Parts Entity includes some of the Part Assemblies, but not all, and they are not structured correctly.
It should be available in the Parts Browser (Double click on Parts from home browser)
