Hi,

Is it normal for a volume mesh to have free edges?

The volume mesh is closed. Why is the free edge detected?

Thanks a lot.

    Hi,

check for some problems connected to mesh quality (eg. duplicate elems, very small edge lengths etc.)

    Best regards

    Oskar

    Hi,

    Thank you for reminding.

There is no problem in duplicate and conncectivity.

The target element size is 30000, and the smallest edge length is 12747. There should be also no problem in this respect.

    Hi

    Yes, it is.

You just need to ensure your volume mesh has no free faces inside, and covering faces have no T-connection

Free edges are edges that are not shared by elements.

    Hi you

Yes, it is normal. Free edge have exist because those element edge have not equivalent any element. So it appear free edge. But in volume mesh should check by "Face" option which ensure inside mesh not separate.
