Beginner, Easy task, but could really need a quick tip
Hello /emoticons/default_smile.png' alt=':)' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' width='20' height='20'>
i just got the student version of hyperworks and have a simple structure i wanna examine.
It is an isotrop plate hanging from the ceiling on 4 wires ( Like a table or an altar)
Can anybody give me a tip how to do that or where i can find tutorials to learn the program ?
All input is greatly appreciated.
Best wishes

Hi,
Do you have a geometry or do you want to model the plate within HyperMesh?
I would suggest you to go through Training center where you can learn about how to get started.
also, Please refer to tutorials on our online help

I have the exact size of the plate, i also got the physical properties of the plate.

What is your objective?
you can start with geometry cleanup (if required) and mesh the plate.
If you are interested in loading the plate and examining the same, use rigids (rbe2) as cables and constraint them.

I need to create the plate. Mesh it.. it has only its own weight as load.. and then restrain it with those 4 cables i think. Right now watching the beginner webinars

In that case you can create a plate with mesh and attach RBE2 at four corners and constraint the same (assuming you are interested in plate deformation)
apply gravity using GRAV card as load and perform analysis.
Please go through tutorials on how to model and setup for analysis

Unfortunately it seems all the tutorials import some model and go from there. I still dont know how to just generate something like 80cm X 40cm ans 1.2 cm thick as a plate /emoticons/default_sad.png' alt=':(' srcset='/emoticons/sad@2x.png 2x' width='20' height='20'>
