Setting up License Server on Gentoo Linux

Hi there,

Have been trying to install the License server for Altair Hyperworks onto a Gentoo Linux based server.

However, during the terminal/console based installation (our server does not have a GUI), the error messages come up saying the License manager failed to install, and then
that the service failed to  start.

Am wondering what the solution to this problem could be.  I tried to check the XML log file that it talks about at the end of the installer, but I could not see where the problem lies.

The altairlmxd script was also not placed in /etc/init.d, and so there is no way to really start the license server/service.

We are running Gentoo on all the computers in our computer lab, and also plan to use Hyperworks on a Gentoo computer as well.  The server where we are trying to install the
license server is running Gentoo as well.

Our goal is to have the license server up and running so we can then install Hyperworks...

Please advise...

Below is the output of the installer from the terminal, when we attempted to install the license server:

You found never Gentoo within supported OS of Hyperworks software!

For licence server, go for RHEL (paied) or CentOS (free). CentOS is binary compatible to RHEL which is supported by Altair.

Our license server runs since several year under CentOS no problem.

For workstation, you want to work with Hyperwork under Gentoo? I would like to say 'Good luck' to you :)/emoticons/default_smile.png' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' title=':)' width='20' />

We managed to get this to work eventually, and successfully.  We have a Gentoo-hosted license server and running the hyperworks software on Windows and Linux systems.

@Rahul Ponginan - Thanks, our local agent did get in touch with us...
