HyperStudy Tips and Tricks: #34 - Executing custom DOE points in HyperStudy
Executing custom DOE points in HyperStudy
Hello HyperStudy users,
HyperStudy has different methods for performing DOE (Design of Experiments) studies such as Modified Extensible Lattice Sequence (MELS), Sobol Sequence etc. for the space filling requirements & Fractional Factorial, Full Factorial etc. for the design variable screening requirements.
However, in some scenarios, a user may be interested in performing a DOE with custom points i.e. user defined points which are not mathematically derived.
For such requirements, HyperStudy has a DOE method called ‘Run Matrix’ where a user can create a design based on individual requirements.
Advantages of using ‘Run Matrix’ DOE method:
- The matrix does not have to fit any DOE type requirements & one can use it to automate a parameter study.
- It is not required to utilize all designs in a study & designs that are not desired can be turned off from the Write/Execute runs panel.
- Any data added using the ‘Inclusion matrix’ option is combined with the run data for post-processing. Any run matrix point which is already part of the inclusion data will not be rerun.
For the exact functioning of the ‘Run Matrix’ DOE method in HyperStudy, kindly refer to the procedural video mentioned below.
