Tetramesh Error

Hi all,

I'm doing tetramesh on a structure of mine and tetramesh kept on failing to generate the mesh. My structure itself is a helicopter frame and it is pretty complicated. When I tried to do it on the first try, I turned the proximity and curvature options off and it says that meshing is failed but there are some highlighted errors on the structure:image

On my second attempt, I turned on proximity and curvature and the meshing is still failed. This time, it is not showing me any errors on the structure though:

I also have checked if there are any free elements or T-edges but fortunately they found nothing.

Does anyone have any idea what does the error say?

    Hello Achmad

Based on the images , it is creating bad quality tetrahedral elements which is causing the tetramesh generation to fail. This can occur if the topology of the geometry is very complex.

    1. You can try to reduce the element size and minimum element size.
    2. Try to tetramesh component is Altair Simlab. It can handle complex geometry better.
    3. Create shell mesh using 2d automesh, check for element quality and remove free edges (red colored) in mesh to create an enclosed mesh volume which can be used for creating tetramesh (Tetramesh option).

    Thanks
