Hiding third nodes in beam

Hello,

 

I want to select the nodes from 1d elements to give contact with nearby structure. When I selecting the nodes by components the third node of the beam also coming, but i do not want to add third node in the contact. is there any way to select the nodes for this?

 

Selecting each nodes is time consuming process as I have more than 1500 nodes in this model. I have attached the image showing beam with 3 nodes.

    Hi

    enter bars>update

    select all your beams and update them with same direction node

    so you can easily deselect the third node

    Do you need to keep private direction node for each beam? - then you can:

    - make a component, named ^temp

    - select all beams => duplicate to 'current comp' (means ^temp comp)

    - shift f3 > equivalence all beams with duplicated beams in ^temp comp

    - isolate only ^temp comp

    - enter panel tool>config edit, select beams of ^temp comp and switch their config to 'plot'

    - now you can select nodes by collector ^temp, because plot does not have third node as beam
