Limit joint rotation

Hi,

Is there somewhere a setting, where I can limit how much joint (hinge for example) can rotate? I don't want to add contact graphics for that, because it is heavy, so can I limit some how like -90 deg - +90 deg? Maybe some kind of end dampers?

Same thing with the springs, why there is no end dampers in the springs? There is setting "Penetration Depth" but for what and where it starts?

    Hi Karli,

You cannot currently limit the movement of a joint.  Like you suggested, a workaround is the use a physical part (dummy part), but you should customize the mass to a small value if you are concerned about the extra mass affecting the results. For example, use 0.00001kg.

With respect to your comment regarding springs, coil spring have "Limits" associated with them.  In this case, the physical geometry of the spring graphic (wire dia., coil dia.) is used to determine if the spring reaches its solid height.  If it does, the limits parameters (one being Penetration Depth) will be used to mimic the spring contacting itself the way a physical spring would.  Torsion springs are not currently handled the same way.

    Hope this helps.
