Theory of shell formulation CQUAD4 and CTRIA3

Dear Forum,

I want to analyze quasi-static finite element boundary value problems using
HyperMesh and HyperView as pre- or postprocessor as well as OptiStruct as solver.
The shell elements of the type CQUAD4 and CTRIA 3 are used.
 
Due to the necessary scientific character of my master's thesis,
I am looking for to the shell formulation of elements in quasi-static computation,
which are implemented in OptiStruct.
Unfortunately, the OptiStruct User and Reference Guide do not provide answers in this regard.
 
Can you provide me with papers for the shell formulations used for these elements?
I am also grateful if you send me a pdf theory manual.
