Do you have tips to reduce the time of optimization, which is partcularly long when you have a big object... Thank you

    Hi Julie
Here are some tips, without knowing anything about your model except that you have big object(my comments from a topolgy point of view)

    1) increase mesh size and do some testruns, start to do a "baseline" analysis without optimisation. If the baseline take's long time the optimisation will also take long time. So it could be a matter of number of element in big object.

    2) dont use 2nd order to start with (most often one run optimisation with 1st order to get a design). Once one get a design one can start to refine and use 2nd order

    3) dont use excessive design space if not needed

    4) If you use Inspire try to run with default parameters to start with!

    Kind regards
    /johan

Thanks for the advise, i also read somewhere that you could use mid-surfaces for metal sheets, any idea if it's possible to fit polynurbs after topology optimization?
