Increase in value of History plot of objective function

i am using the 2d cantilever beam with point load at end and  objective function has minimize compliance and i have give volumefrac 30% and i am getting the history plot as shown below and why there is a sudden increase in compliance value at irroration 8? can anyone explain why i have this change?

take a look at the OS documentation, under the user guide, for topology optimization, design variables.

There is a 3-phase penalty increase, thus these jumps are due to these changes in penalty.
