Data Prep and DBF files

I have an application that outputs to dbf.  How do I get the dbf into Data Prep?  I have tried importing with the Excel and Access channel, but DP does not recognize either.  Tried ODBC, but that wants a user and password.

If I open as a DB2, Data Prep wants to set up a connection.  This is just a simple .dbf file sitting on the network.

I opened the dbf in Excel, so I now have an excel file.  I only work with this file once a quarter.  Not critical, but was curious.

I opened it as a text file and it worked, although not sure that is the best choice.  So far I don't see anything wrong with it.

    Hi Janet,
Use Monarch classic, Open database, select DBF Files (*.dbf)
    image
You can either port the table to DPS and modify your data in DPS or you might be able to modify it in classic.

In this situation, I think Classic is the better choice.  Thanks, Mo.
