Student edition license is not getting activated after resetting the factory.

We are frequently encountering an issue with activating the Altair student edition license. After students perform a factory reset on their laptops, they are unable to activate their license again even the license is valid at present moment. Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any solutions?

    Hello,

    This is expected as the license will still be activated with the installation they wipe during factory reset. To avoid this issue, they still deactivate their license before performing the factory reset.

    Due to a sudden issue with the laptop, they are unable to deactivate the license before performing a factory reset. Even if they try to deactivate the license after the factory reset, they are still unable to activate it. what is the possible solution for this?

    In that case, they should contact Altair EDU support to get their license properly deactivated.

    Hi,

    Please share the official university email Ids of all students who are experiencing this issue after the factory reset, or kindly ask the students to write to us on the community forum. We will assist them by deactivating their licenses from within our system, so they will be able to reactivate it on their current system without encountering any errors.
