How to create a file.res

Hey, I'm Greg

after extracting element stress, I need to create a file.res to use on hyperview the result of the treatment. for that I use hmgenres.exe, but the convertor doesn't take care of the exponentionential part of the result?

what can I Do?

    HMgenres expects the stress values in float format. The following is from the online documentation:

    The input file for hmgenres should be formatted as follows:Standard format:SUBCASE 1 Road Loads at 40mphRESULTS   Element   Vonmises StressESTRESS         1    123.000000 ESTRESS         2    234.000000

    Can you reformat your extracted stress values in float format, rather than exponential? What format are your original FE results in? HyperView can read many of them directly. You may also consider using the HVTRANS utility to convert your results into H3D format, rather than .res format.
