Part + mesh geometry export

Hi all

I have model geometry in IGS which I've imported to HM. In HM, I've created the mesh. Now I want to continue preprocessing in Abaqus CAE, because I need to do dynamic explicit analysis (ductile damage parameters..) and HM is lacking tools for that (or am I wrong?).

So, how can I export PART and MESH data to Abaqus so I can continue assigning properties to parts etc?

Thanks for your help

    Hi,

There are tutorials on Pre-Processing for Abaqus. If you are using commercial suite of HyperWorks, refer to the following tutorials:

You will have to export to Abaqus .inp format , from file > export , after you have set the user profile to abaqus.

If you are using the student edition, it is not possible to interface with abaqus.

Honestly, it is much hard for me to understand those rules.

I can work with INPs. How can I get HM to write the geometry of the imported IGES to INP?

The goal is to have only part geometry and mesh in the INP file. I can then continue assigning properties etc in cae..

I found a similar thread. Sounds like I'm not the only one. I will try beth02's method and report here.
