Hi, i'm trying to lounch my analysis of bird strike in aeronautical fan. I don't know to impose angular velocity at fan, how can i do ?

Hi,
You need to define a curve for this.. Go to XY plots>Curve Editor and then make curve as foll.
If constant angular velocity at t=0
x y
0.0 -314.152
0.1 -314.52
If angular velocity is rising with time:
x y
0.0 0.0
0.1 -314.52
For direction i.e XX, YY, ZZ you can use either global coordinate system or local coordinate system


thank a lot for reply, i do as you said but the values of velocity are constant along the span as you can see in this pictures. (constant angular velocity)

Yes this is condition where you will have constant velocity right from starting i.e t-=0
If you increase the velocity with time use 2nd curve I have shown above


I follow all the steps but the angular velocity doesn't work, i tryed sono times to change the parameters but i failed every time.

Can you elaborate more on this like are you seeing no velocity in animation files?
Check energy plots also.
Can you share the model file


It seems You have applied the IMPVEL for rotational to each node.
Try applying it on the master node of the blades centre.


hi, it's not correct.
you rotate all nodes.
you should rotate onle reference node in circle.
and if you use BC's manager you should check it in model brouser (load container). i have always trouble with them it don't create curves to container.

Hello, i use ' initial velocity around axis' but when i run my analysis this is the results. I try to change dof but the same error appear. If i share my file can you help me to impose velocity ?

Thank you a lot Prakash, yes i think the problems are in boundary condition and in imp. Velocity (i deleted it on the model i send you). Can you add in the model the angular velocity (314.152 rad/s)?


i supposed that the effect on the latest picture maybe came from centrifugal forces. what do you think Prakash ?

Please check the folder , there you will see A001 and A002 files. These are animation and needs to be opened in Hyperview
T01 files represent the time history output. This needs to be opened in hypergraph


yes there are A0## file and there is hyperview file but look like demaged.

I think you have a h3d file in your folder. Due to (italic A) it couldn't open in HV.
Can you rename the result file to a different name and check if that helps?
