I'm using the Altair Student Bundle Edition on Windows 11, and I'm having problems opening both Inspire and HyperMesh 2026.1.

Both programs worked fine at first, but after a few days they started showing errors and stopped opening correctly.

I tried reinstalling Inspire using both the standard installer and the Alternate Installer, but the problem is still there.

I checked Windows Event Viewer and found several CodeIntegrity errors (Event ID 3077). These errors show that Windows is blocking some Altair DLL files, including hwtypes.dll, vtkImagingCore-pv6.0.dll and hwfdmplugincore.dll. In some cases, Windows also reports that the publisher cannot be verified.

Smart App Control is enabled on my PC. It seems that Windows security is preventing these files from loading, but I'm not sure why, especially since both programs worked before. I haven't disabled Smart App Control because Windows warns that I might not be able to enable it again without resetting or reinstalling Windows.

I also tried installing Inspire in a separate folder using the Alternate Installer, but I still get the same type of error.

Could you help me understand what is causing this issue and how I can fix it without disabling Smart App Control?

I can send screenshots of the error messages and Event Viewer logs if needed.

Hello,

I would like to download and use Inspire Personal Edition for private, non-commercial hobby projects.

I found the official Altair Community post “Altair Inspire for FIRST Robotics: Free Simulation (CAE) Software”, which still links to Inspire Personal Edition. However, the Personal Edition download link now returns a 404 error.

I already have an Altair One account. In the Marketplace I can only find Simcenter Inspire as a Free Trial. I have already used this trial, so I am specifically looking for the free Personal Edition, not another trial.

Is Inspire Personal Edition still available after the transition to Siemens?

If so, could you please provide the current download link and instructions for obtaining or activating the Personal Edition license?

I verified in MotionSolve that this fixed flexible joint does carry force in the X direction. But when I use the Joint function to measure or output it, the force reads zero.

I have a template that doesn't seem to take effect in Inspire Motion, but it works fine when imported directly into MotionSolve. Has anyone encountered this issue?

I am currently enrolled at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg and use my official university email address for my Altair One account.

When I am logged out, the Altair Marketplace loads all available applications normally. After signing in with my existing university account, the Marketplace only displays “No Apps Available”.

My university email address already had an Altair One account, so I was unable to create a new account and select the account type “Student”.

Could you please verify my existing Altair One account for Student Edition access and enable the Student Edition License and Student Edition Bundle?

I'm using Altair Inspire to create a J-weld geometry on a pipe. The weld cross-sections are different, as shown in the image below: the profile on the left differs from the profile on the right.

My goal is to create a weld solid that follows the pipe circumference while smoothly transitioning from the left profile to the right profile. Can anyone suggest the best approach to create this type of transitional weld geometry in Inspire? Any guidance on suitable tools or workflows would be greatly appreciated.

I tested creating a geometry in Inspire

• this geometry is a simple volume with some features and 1 variable

I then loaded this into Hypermesh (via File→Import→Geometry Model)

• this is where i had to change settings (Point to "Inspire Installation" path, allow "live parameter update")

What is possible by this point:

1. Use CAD Update (seeiingly useless if PDM Metadata doesnt change [I am using Inspire without PDM])
2. Changing the CAD-parameter and watch the Geometry get updated (seemilgy some type of reload that preserves already known volumeIDs and "intelligently" adds only modified parts) with the changed features
3. Modifiing the CAD Model in Inspire
   1. then Save Model in Inspire
   2. trigger parameter Update inside Hypermesh (cahnging the variable)
   3. watch the model beeing loaded in with changes before from step 3a and the parameter change

What does not seem possible:

1. Modifiing the Inspire Model inside Inspire and reloading the model (bot triggered by Hypermesh parameter update)
   1. CAD Update does not seem to work
   2. File→ Import→Geometry Model just creates a new geometry and doesnt "intelligently" add only modified parts
2. triggereing a reload that also correctly reads in new assembly structure (if new assembly structure was created by modifiing the Inspire CAD)

Does anyone know of ways to trigger the manual "intelligent" reload of CAD ?

Is there a way to reload with the Inspire assembly structure beeing preserved / loaded in correclty?

P.S.: i did not have sucsess with trying representations and i am still on Hypermesh 2026 (not 2026.1)

In the literature, there are calculation methods for spur-gear, helical-gear and bevel-gears, but not for crossed helical gears.

I would be grateful for any useful tips on how to proceed.

am doing an interference fit or press fit for a bearing to a shaft. The
parameters I know is the material  Steel (AISI 1080) for the bearingand  Steel
(AISI 4142) for the shaft, coefficient of friction of 0.20 and . I want
to know the force required to push the bearing into the shaft. I want to
confirm if my process for setting up the simulation is correct.

I have a question about applying initial tension to fasteners in Altair Inspire. In previous Altair releases (I believe I was on 2023), there was a section in the Property Editor for Fasteners to adjust its pretension, which is also explained in this post https://help.altair.com/inspire/en_us/topics/inspire/reference/FAQ_assign_initial_tension.htm .

After I updated my Aitair Inspire to 2025.1, the option to adjust the fastener pretension in the property editor no longer exists (see picture below).

Has the pretension feature been moved elsewhere?

I am experiencing a persistent issue with Altair Inspire Cast 2026. The software crashes silently about 5 seconds after the initial splash screen appears, without showing any error dialog.

Here are the exact crash details from the Windows Event Viewer:

• Faulting application name: hwx.exe
• Faulting module name: vulkan-1.dll

System Details:

• HP Laptop with Dual GPU (NVIDIA dedicated + Integrated GPU)
• Windows 11

I have updated all my drivers performing clean installations. Tried to disinstall and reinstall the software with no luck. Please help.

However, I’m confused about the part where the parameterized geometry is imported into EDEM and then coupled with MotionView. Since the parameterized geometry has already been imported into EDEM, at which step is the bucket model in MotionView updated? I don’t quite get this part.
