Wheelie Control Motorcycle


The aim of this co-simulation is to control the throttle to achieve the desired Pitch angle of the motorcycle with a PID controller with feedforward action and anti-wind up.

The controller is designed in Altair Activate while the Multibody part is modeled with Altair MotionSolve. To pose a challenge to the controller a random road bump profile is included. Moreover, the frame flexibility is considered to increase the fidelity of the overall simulation.

Finally, a rendering of the simulation was performed in Altair InspireStudio, the racetrack map is from an actual MotoGP circuit, Estoril (Portugal), which was originally nicely created by Mitja Bonca.
