Topology Optimization applied to parts constructed via FDM for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (by P. Maggiore et al.; Italy)

Unmanned aerial vehicle are becoming an important reality in the aerospace market nowadays. This work has the aim to design and construct an innovative multirotor with great autonomy that would challenge for a world record. To reach this goal topology optimization has been applied to the parts to reduce to the minimum weight and to maximize the time of flight.
