As Altair strives to deliver innovative solutions that create value for our customers, we periodically release new products or versions of products. Therefore, as part of a product’s lifecycle, older versions eventually reach their natural end of life. It is Altair’s goal to make this process as transparent as possible to Customers and Partners, thereby enabling our users to plan for upgrades and migrations toward supported product versions.
This article sets forth Altair’s End of Life (EOL) policy milestones and defines the life cycle of Altair Monarch desktop and the types of technical support available during this life cycle.
With the recent release of Altair Monarch 2021 we would like to inform you that Altair has begun the End-of-Support process for the following product:

Altair Monarch products support two concurrent major versions at the same time. With the release of Altair Monarch 2021 (SDK 17.X) the Monarch Desktop version 15.X will be end of lifed while Monarch versions 16.0 and 16.1 will continue to be supported.
To get started, below are some useful resources: As per the support policy we only support the current plus one previous version and with this, we would highly recommend upgrading your Monarch to the latest version during this time frame to benefit from all the new features, security updates and many more.

Note: Before upgrading to Altair Monarch Classic/Complete 2021 please reach out to support. In going from version 15.X to 2021, a new license file/code (free of charge to maintenance customers) will need to be created. If you attempt to use a v15.X license or activation code, the product will not work.
Please note the latest version of Monarch Server (2020.x) supports models, projects, and workspaces from Monarch Complete 2020.1.1 or lower only.
Models, Projects, and Workspaces that are created or edited in 2021.0 or later contain features and enhancements that make these incompatible with Monarch Server 2020.x. The next major release of Monarch Server is due in November 2021 (Version 2021.0). This will have compatibility with Monarch Complete 2021.0 accordingly.
Use of mixed versions of Monarch Complete/Monarch Server when sharing models, projects, or workspaces should be avoided to minimize compatibility issues that can arise as a result.
