Check if SimLab is Configured with Creo


Check if SimLab is configured with Creo software by performing one of the following tests.

Note: All the test outlined below are also documented in the attached PPT. 


Test 1

  1. Open the command prompt.


  2. Drag-and-drop the vp_init.bat file into the command prompt and press Enter button.


  3. Open the vp_init.bat file and look at the batch file name shown in the below image.


  4. Copy the batch file name in vp_init.bat and paste it into the command prompt and press the Enter button.


  5. This will open Creo software. If Creo software opens successfully, then your Creo models should open properly in SimLab. 

Note: While opening Creo, if you receive an error message in a pop-up window, please take a screenshot of the error message. 

 



Test 2

  1. Open the vp_init.bat file. 
  2. Check that the value of “VP_PROE_CMD_DIR” points to your Creo installation.
    • Ex: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 6.0.1.0\Parametric\bin\ 
  3. Check that the batch file defined in “VP_PROE_CMD” is available in your Creo installation.
    • Ex: parametric.bat 




Test 3

  1. Launch SimLab.
  2. From the File menu, select Help > System Info.
  3. In the pop-up window, click on the Open button. The SimLabSysInfo.txt file opens.


  4. In the SimLabSysInfo.txt file, check the following:
